We raised approximately $15,000.00 for the Food Pantry Ministry with your help!
The Food Pantry team thanks everyone who supported the Pantry Dinner and Golf Tournament. We raised approximately $15,000.00 for the Food Pantry Ministry with your help! Thank you to all the volunteers and the Golf Committee who worked very hard to make it a success. We can’t thank them enough for all the hours they put in to make sure everything went smoothly. We also want to thank all those who went the extra mile and bought tee sponsorships to show their support. You can always see more information at http://www.murrietaumc.org/ministries/food-pantry
The community’s continual support for our pantry is awesome.
Already this year, the library collected “Food for Fines” throughout the whole month of February. The Realtors’ Association collected food from their neighbors and shared it among the community pantries. On March 10 – 11th, the Tour de Murrieta Bike races returned to Old Town. It again featured a children’s race on Saturday and the kids were encouraged to bring canned items for the pantry instead of paying a registration fee. Even though it was a rainy day, lots of kids showed up and put cans in our market basket. A huge thank you to all who helped us out.
The absolute two favorite items from the choice table are Spam and Canned Chicken breast.
Several people have asked why we haven’t been listing items we’d like to have donated each month. It seemed like the idea got old and we didn’t really see much of the items come in, but we’re willing to give it another try. The absolute two favorite items from the choice table are Spam and Canned Chicken breast. Both of these items are too expensive for the pantry budget so they only appear on the table when someone donates them.

A child’s dream event called Shipwrecked Vacation Bible School is here at MUMC from June 18th to June 22th.
At Shipwrecked Vacation Bible School kids discover that Jesus rescues them! Kids participate in memorable Bible learning activities, sing catchy songs, and play teamwork-building games. They will learn to make and devour yummy treats, experience one-of-a-kind Bible adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of God’s love. Finally, watch them test out Sciency- Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings.
Each day concludes with the Sail Away Sendoff that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned. We are also in need of volunteers for this exciting event! We are looking for youth to adults to help guide kids on their adventure as they discover God’s love. Check out the video:
