Free Vacation Bible School

A child’s dream event called Shipwrecked Vacation Bible School is here at MUMC from June 18th to June 22th.

At Shipwrecked Vacation Bible School kids discover that Jesus rescues them! Kids participate in memorable Bible learning activities, sing catchy songs, and play teamwork-building games. They will learn to  make and devour yummy treats, experience one-of-a-kind Bible adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of God’s love. Finally, watch them test out Sciency- Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings.

Each day concludes with the Sail Away Sendoff that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned. We are also in need of volunteers for this exciting event! We are looking for youth to adults to help guide kids on their adventure as they discover God’s love. Check out the video:

Sunday School

We are pleased to welcome back the following teachers Jenna and Derek Hudson with Pre-k, June Rivera with Kindergarten and 1st grade, Aileen Kohrmann and Karen Shumate with 2nd and 3rd grade, and DeeDee Warden and Janice Breuer with 4th and 5th grade. As usual Sunday school will take place every Sunday at 9:00 AM except the first Sunday of each month. After the Children’s Message Sunday school participants will exit the double doors to the left towards the Fellowship Hall where they will be greeted by their Sunday school teachers. On the first Sunday of every month children will stay in worship service with their families after the Children’s Message. Before you go in on the first Sunday don’t forget your MUMC Kids In-Service bags. This will help keep the younger ones busy during worship service. These bags are located at the Sunday school table in front of the sanctuary along with additional upcoming events and need to know information. Once Sunday worship is over children need to be picked up promptly.

Regular Sunday school has kicked off and we are thrilled to welcome back our Sunday school teachers, parents, and children to what will be an exciting new year of learning God’s words.  Last month we celebrated the start of a new Sunday school year at MUMC with our Carnival Fall Kick Off. There were games with prizes, a jumper, and a burger bash and not to mention a Dunk Tank with two willing participants. Andy Huntington our Vision Team Leader and Pastor Scott Andrews (pictured) both fell victim to the dunk tank several times but did so with smiles on their faces! The Fall Kick Off presented an excellent opportunity to pick up some information about the coming year. Please see the Children’s and Family Ministry Director Ayesha Sabree at the Sunday school table Sunday morning located in front of the sanctuary for more information. or contact her (951) 677-6174 or Ayesha@murrietaumc.org.

We will also have a dunk tank in the lawn area for you dunk Pastor Scott. For an even greater chance to throw a ball and dunk Pastor Scott bring a friend.

Donations for prizes are needed for our Fall Carnival Kick Off happening Sunday, September 10th. Some of the donations that we are in need of are small toys and candy. These items can be dropped off during office hours or on Sundays at the Sunday school table. We would like all items by Monday, September 4th.

Summer Sunday School

As most of you are aware our Sunday school teachers work very hard to ensure that the kids at MUMC are learning about God’s love while having fun. Because they work so hard every year during the summer we like to give them time off to help them relax and refresh. We are looking for volunteers to teach Sunday school classes. We need four volunteers each Sunday (except July 2nd and August 6th) from June 11th until August 27th from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM. You can chose to volunteer just one Sunday or as many Sundays as you’d like.  We’re just happy you could help and serve.
