I’ve had the great blessing to be the Senior Pastor of Murrieta UMC since August 2000. My primary responsibilities include leading worship, preaching and teaching. I also have a large ministry in visiting the sick or homebound and in providing care for people facing various challenges in life.

Another large part of what I do is to provide vision and leadership, to order the life of the church, and to nurture discipleship and growth in ministry for all of our members. In other words, my ministry is to help you find and serve out your ministry according to your unique gifts and calling from God.

I was ordained in the United Methodist Church in 1988 and began serving the church after graduating with my Masters of Divinity Degree in 1989. Murrieta United Methodist Church is the third church that I have served. Prior to Murrieta, I served the Ramona United Methodist Church from 1994-2000 and Riviera United Methodist Church, in Redondo Beach, from 1989-1994.

In May of 2004, I was awarded a Doctor of Ministry Degree from the Claremont School of Theology.

My wife and I have been married since 1986. We have two children, our daughter, Janessa is a sophomore at Boston University and our son, Thomas is a Junior at MVHS. I enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities like golf, baseball, snorkeling, hiking and running.  I ran my first Half Marathon in 2010 and am looking forward to running my first full Marathon.
