OUR HISTORY
MURRIETA UMC
Our church was established as the Murrieta Methodist Episcopal Church in 1886, with our first building dedicated on September 11, 1887. It is the longest running congregation in Murrieta, according to the Murrieta Valley Historical Society.
The original church building burned down on April 10, 1963, the result of an arsonist’s actions just before Easter Sunday. The original bell from that building remains in our courtyard today. A new building was dedicated on March 28, 1965. A bit more history and additional photos can be viewed on the Historical Society’s website.
